Brothers Mario and Martino Prada founded Prada in 1913 as a leather goods business that exported trunks and handbags to England. In order to expand the business, Luxottica took over the first Prada Eyewear collection, which was created in 1999 in collaboration with Prada and the De Rigo Group.
